Job Description


Position Scope: Reporting to the Cigna Pharmacy Operations - Readiness Lead and working as a key member of the Pharmacy Readiness Team, this role is responsible for leading complex and large scale cross functional Business and Sales initiatives; playing a critical role in ensuring end to end readiness for Cigna Pharmacy related initiatives (including Pilots).

Strategy, Planning and Execution

  • Draft and propose business and/or sales readiness plans for assigned initiatives.
  • Collaborate with matrix partners to deliver projects in support of Opertional and Sales readiness needs for new and existing products as well as non-product specific initiatives.
  • Execution of key projects in the evolution, retention and growth of the book of business with focus on coordinating cross functional readiness activities in support of new products/initiatives.
  • Compile lessons learned and provide recommendations to improve the readiness process.
  • Support the management and evolution of the Readiness SharePoint sites.
Project Management Leadership in support of evolving our Cigna Pharmacy business
  • Utilizes established project and program methodology to lead the execution of multiple project plans for assigned portfolio of work. Where the methodology is not sufficient, create and augment with new processes and establish best practices
  • Manages to the readiness framework with accountability for issue remediation, priorities, key milestones, time estimates, task sequencing and identification of tasks that critical to achieve objectives.
  • Elicits and documents initiative requirements as needed.
  • Ensure projects/intake requests and scope changes are managed effectively and within committed timelines to support clients and customers.
  • Resolve issues and determine contingency plans and triggers for risks. As needed, escalate issues to appropriate audiences including key business leaders and team members.
  • Partners with matrix organizations to ensure that appropriate action is taken to identify and implement initiatives.
  • Special Projects as assigned.
  • Evaluates and reports on initiative status.
  • Maintains communication channels and reporting mechanisms to manage issues, risks and timely delivery of initiative results.
  • Coordinates the planning of all Operational & Sales Readiness activities and works to obtain agreement from impacted stakeholders on the plan and related timing.
  • Represents Cigna Pharmacy Sales, with respect to Sales Readiness, across highly matrixed organization in support of work related to Cigna Pharmacy business.
  • Sales Readiness includes planning and executing on Sales Teams training (Pharmacy & Medical), internal and external materials, consultant, client and customer communications.
  • Resolve issues and determine contingency plans and triggers for risks. Provide risk details to the assigned Project Manager for RAID log tracking and/or maintain a RAID log for assigned projects (as needed).
  • Summarize and escalate issues to appropriate audiences.
  • Create artifacts as needed to support internal information sharing (use standard templates when available).
  • Attend & schedule meetings, run readiness calls for assigned initiatives and identify cross initiative impacts as needed.
  • Responsible for managing / tracking initiatives and keeping the tracking tools updated.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in project management, planning, development, implementation, process improvement and maintaining processes
  • Skilled in core project management (PMP and Safe Agile certified a plus)
  • Healthcare/Pharmacy domain experience /knowledge a must
  • Ability to engage in a highly matrixed organization
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels and diverse partners, including executive leaders
  • Excellent leadership skills including ability to think strategically, develop vision, and execute plan
  • Fact-based problem solver with the ability to evaluate alternative courses of action and make sound management decisions
  • Experience with cross-functional initiatives, with a high degree of complexity
  • Highly collaborative experience working with cross-functional initiatives, with high complexity to deliver a defined set of outcomes and objectives
  • Ability to develop trusting working partnerships with internal and external business and technology partners
  • Ability to be proactive and effect change, influence, persuade, and collaborate with operational areas with various levels of experience and responsibility
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and execute with limited information and ambiguity
  • Leverage data insights, experience and knowledge of business needs to identify or develop business and technical solutions, engage technology through appropriate channels to solve problems

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 99,200 - 165,300 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
