These duties must be performed under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.Fills unit dose cassettes; verifies the amount of medication in the cassettes and the patient number (reviewed by a licensed pharmacist).Pre-packages unit dose medication; Prepares sterile compounds; packages individual prescription doses for dispensing by a licensed pharmacist.Prepares and maintains patient medication profiles.Assist in the orientation and training of pharmacy staff and students as directed by a licensed pharmacist.Receive written doctor\'s orders and prescriptions and types medication labels.Codes and posts patient profiles.Inventories and stocks all medications, noting expiration dates and locations of drugs.Conduct audits of federally controlled and stock substances.Fills requisitions and delivers stock medications to nursing stations.Mails out-dated drugs to drug companies.Cleans and disinfects pharmaceutical equipment.May use the computer terminal to enter or retrieve information concerning patients or inventory.May assist patients with applying for various patient assistance drug programs.
