Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Phlebotomist at our facility you will be an integral part of our Laboratory team. We are a highly functioning team that supports many different departments and has a passion for providing the best patient care through compassionate, professional interactions and reliable testing. In this role:

\xc2\xb7You will collect blood samples and body fluids from patients for laboratory testing including blood cultures and arterial samples for blood gas analysis.

\xc2\xb7You will register specimens and orders tests in LIS and prepare/label samples for internal or external testing.

\xc2\xb7You will communicate lab test requests and results to appropriate staff, departments, and/or physicians.

\xc2\xb7You will collect and document urine drug screens requiring chain of custody and breath alcohol when required.

\xc2\xb7You will assist with in-services or training as assigned.

\xc2\xb7You will assist with administrative duties within the laboratory.

Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7Phlebotomy Certification required.

\xc2\xb7One year of phlebotomy experience or equivalent phlebotomy training program.

\xc2\xb7Excellent communication/people skills and problem solving skills.

\xc2\xb7Computer skills and filing/clerical skills.

\xc2\xb7High attention to detail and accuracy.

\xc2\xb7American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.

\xc2\xb7Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
