We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare system by collecting blood samples from patients and ensuring their safe and accurate processing. This is an opportunity to provide essential patient care and support. Duties:
- Perform phlebotomy procedures to collect blood samples from patients
- Label and properly store collected specimens for laboratory testing
- Follow established laboratory techniques and procedures for specimen collection and processing
- Maintain accurate records of patient information
- Ensure proper patient identification and verify test orders
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing any concerns or questions
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures in accordance with hospital or laboratory policies
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient specimen collection and processing - Travel between lab and sites to collect and deliver specimens Skills:
- Proficient in phlebotomy techniques, including venipuncture and capillary puncture
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment used in specimen processing
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling and documentation
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients in a caring and professional manner
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to phlebotomy and laboratory testing Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program or certification
- Previous experience working in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting is preferred
