POSITION SUMMARY:

The Physical Therapist assists individuals in restoring or achieving optimal movement, mobility and function, by developing and applying therapeutic interventions and individualized treatment programs based on an initial evaluation. The Physical Therapist promotes engagement in activities that affect health, well-being and quality of life for patients of all ages. The Physical Therapist supports optimal physical performance and teaches how to avoid injuries at work or at play.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires an MS or Doctorate degree from an accredited school in Physical Therapy.
  • One year experience required strong background in the majority of the following areas: inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing/short term rehab and/or pediatrics.
  • Must have current PT Idaho state License.
  • Current BLS certification required (can be obtained upon hire)
  • Ability to read, write legibly and comprehend the written and spoken word in English.
  • Proficient in using Electronic medical records systems (EMI) preferably WellSky, EPIC and/or Meditech.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, key board at 30 wpm, use Microsoft Office products such as Outlook email and Word.
  • Must have a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
SCHEDULE:
  • M-F, Days; Will participate in Saturday rotation as needed
  • 8am-4:30pm
  • 40 hrs per week for full-time; as needed for Per Diem
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/REQUIREMENTS
  • Responsible for evaluating gross motor skills in patients of all ages, assess dysfunctions of developmental, traumatic or degenerative origin, and assess orthopedic, neurological, circulatory, cardiovascular and respiratory conditions.
  • Responsible for performing tests including sensation, circulation, muscle strength, proprioception, range of motion, coordination, balance, gait evaluation, postural evaluation, evaluate movement disorders and evaluation of function.
  • Develops and monitors treatment programs tailored to a patient\xe2\x80\x99s individual needs, utilizing the wide range of therapeutic interventions available to a physical therapist. Knows how to progress activities and incorporate precautions.
  • Completes documentation according to departmental policies and procedures, timely and accurately, to assure excellence in continuity of patient care, to meet facility, State and Federal regulatory requirements and assure payment for services rendered.
  • Fosters collaboration with the PT Team and PTA to achieve optimal patient care to enhance the overall delivery of therapy services.
  • Supervises Physical Therapist Assistant and PT students as outlined in the Idaho Practice Act and hospital standards.
  • Follows departmental and hospital policies and procedures at all times and reacts properly in an emergency and/or disaster, following emergency codes instructions and Infection Control standards.
