Nurse Practitioner Role Scope

\xc2\xb7 Rotate thru OR as first assist and Clinic \xe2\x80\x93 80% Clinic \xe2\x80\x93 20% OR as first assist

\xc2\xb7 Provides direct patient care in office consultations, including assessment, work-ups, triage, emergency work-ins, and other patient care activities

\xc2\xb7 Obtains and documents health history, performs and documents physical exam, and orders and interprets diagnostic tests

\xc2\xb7 Provides counseling to patients regarding diagnosis and expected course of treatment

\xc2\xb7 Collaborates with physicians to provide appropriate direct care interventions within scope of practice

\xc2\xb7 Collects, organizes, records, and discusses data as appropriate and uses sound clinical judgment based in best practice standards and evidenced based medicine

Shift

\xc2\xb7 Full Time \xe2\x80\x93 M \xe2\x80\x93 F - 8a \xe2\x80\x93 430p \xe2\x80\x93 no holidays \xe2\x80\x93 no weekends

Travel: some travel requirements, 3 locations (Milford, Bridgeport, Wilton as needed)

Qualifications

\xc2\xb7 Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant

\xc2\xb7 National Certification in Advanced Practice and current CPR certification

\xc2\xb7 FA course completion within 6 months of employment

\xc2\xb7 Current State of CT APRN license with prescriptive authority and current DEA number & 100% attendance to maintain annual mandatory skill updates

\xc2\xb7 2 years of experience in general surgery/colorectal surgery, ambulatory surgery or acute care setting for surgical care preferred

\xc2\xb7 Excellent clinical management skills and proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take lead when appropriate

\xc2\xb7 Positive, customer-focused approach, with commitment to providing excellent patient care

\xc2\xb7 Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate in other languages highly desirable

\xc2\xb7 Ability to communicate technical information clearly to patients of all ages

\xc2\xb7 Highly organized with demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks with full autonomy
