The Advanced Vein Center is looking for a skilled Physician\'s Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic and growing medical practice. Under the supervision and direction of the Medical Director, the PA will play an important role in the evaluation and medical management of patients with venous disease and non-healing wounds. This will be done by performing full consultations and follow-up care, in accordance to physician directives, established protocols, and within practice guidelines established by the Board of Medicine and the Board of Nursing, as applicable. With advanced knowledge and skills in the area of venous disease and wound care, the PA will be a leader in coordinating resources to facilitate the achievement of optimum health and wellness for each of our patients.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting treatment consultations in order to identify client goals, determine recommended services and products that will achieve optimal outcomes. The PA perform H&Ps and follow-up appointments for the vein practice. It is also expected that the NP will participate in the growth of the practice by taking part in marketing efforts that will maximize utilization and patient flow. The NP will perform duties and tasks within standards established for the job. The NP will be responsible for maintaining current professional knowledge and competencies and contributing to the advancement of the practice.
Requirements: A minimum of 5 years of experience is preferred. Must be a graduate of a School of Nursing, licensed as an RN by the State of Maine and have approval from the Board of Nursing to practice in the advanced role. Certified by a national certifying body that is appropriate to his/her clinical specialty. The incumbent must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as he/she will be interfacing with patients, families, staff, physicians and management. Must demonstrate excellent analytical and problem solving skills in order to determine and implement appropriate care plans with oversight by the physician. Must show willingness to pursue and expand knowledge base in multiple aspects of medicine. Must be flexible with scheduling demands, have strong writing skills and be proficient in medical terminology. This individual must be reliable and a self-motivated team-player, friendly, outgoing and have a positive attitude. Strong business and sales skills are preferred, knowledge in vein and wound care are a plus.
