Quality Enterprises is looking for Pipelayers to join our team. The Pipelayer is responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Training with certification in pipelaying preferred.
• Pipelaying experience required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Configures pipe routes.
• Aligns pipes in pipeline sections.
• Digs trenches with trenching tools.
• Slides pipes into trenches.
• Removes defective or misaligned pipes.
• Inspects joints where pipes are fitted together to ensure proper spacing.
• Lays pipe for storm or sanitation sewers and all pressure pipe.
• Grades trenches or culverts.
• Seals pipe joints.
• Uses glue or welding equipment to ensure pipes are tightly fitted.
• Covers pipes with dirt or other material.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of pipelaying practices.
• Familiar with pipelayer hand signals.
• Ability to use various pieces of equipment for pipelaying.
• Ability to read construction plans.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.
• Ability to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary.
• Must be able to operate machinery in extreme weather conditions and terrains.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
