Planters Peanuts started being produced in Fort Smith in 1975 and has enjoyed a record of growth and improvement. Over 100 SKUs are produced at Fort Smith in peanut and tree nut blends from small convenience store packaging to large club store containers.
Fort Smith has approximately 260 Employees Non-Union, Full Time Employees, as well as Third Party Warehouse and Production employees and contractors.
4 Shifts for 24/7 Operation: 12 Hour Shifts (A/B/C/D) Mon-Wed or Thurs-Sat crews alternate Sundays 36/48 pattern.

Responsibilities & Duties:
Ensure safe work environment for self and others by complying with all safety rules, requirements, and programs, as well as making suggestions to improve safety of the facility and personnel.
Accountable for Quality standards of your product by supporting all Quality programs and complying with all policies, HACCP, and GMP/Food Safety requirements.
Successful individuals will be self-motivated to learn new equipment, processes, and skills in their area of ownership.
Perform and train self/others on basic electrical and mechanical skills, mechanical repairs and overhauls, maintenance systems, computer skills, new technologies in preventive/predictive maintenance, problem solving/troubleshooting, etc. where skills are not at the required level.
Grow to expert level on complex machine adjustment and troubleshooting.
Must have working knowledge of Industrial Electrical Control systems and wiring. Able to read electrical Schematics and troubleshoot electrical circuits up to the PLC control point.
Must be able to maintain and operate all equipment in assigned area.
Demonstrate successful application of problem-solving techniques, effective communication, and planning.
Must be Powered Industrial Truck licensed and follow all safety rules and procedures.
Must complete requirements for Arkansas Boiler License.
Achieve expected performance results on all maintenance tasks assigned in Computerized Maintenance System.
Develop and implement improvements using Root Cause Failure Analysis process to prevent recurring maintenance issues.
Lead in efforts to improve efficiencies.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks on equipment with operator assistance.
Utilize all support equipment necessary to perform housekeeping and work: forklift, hand lift, sanitation equipment
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Prefer advanced education in maintenance, electrical, and/or PLCs.
Minimum 3 Years of verifiable Manufacturing Maintenance: PMs, troubleshoot, mechanical, electrical, PLCs
Operate Computers & Computerized equipment for maintenance systems, machine operation, quality, safety and compliance testing and training.
Communicate with co-workers face to face, by telephone, and electronic communications.
Able to give and understand instructions and hold conversations in manufacturing environment, as well as an office or classroom setting.
Possess manual dexterity necessary to perform maintenance tasks, operate equipment, disassemble and reassemble equipment, operate a computer and other standard office equipment.
Vision adequate to manipulate equipment controls, complete paperwork, utilize computers, and have depth perception.
Complete training for Powered Industrial Trucks, LOTO, Confined Space Entry and Fall Protection usage.
Complete Step up Qualification cards in the designated timeframe.
Lift up to 50 lbs independently and heavier weights with assistance.
Walk, Sit, Stand for duration of shift with regular breaks
Wear all Required Personal Protective Equipment, PPE, to perform job tasks
Climb stairs, steps and ladders, as well as work at heights on equipment, platforms, and walkways.
Perform bending, squatting, kneeling, leaning, and reaching at both ground level and overhead.
Own basic maintenance tools.
