Plumbing & Field Supervisor

Job Description

Rapidly growing sewer line repair businesses is seeking a plumbing professional with a Residential or Journeyman license to lead and grow our field operations. This role will report directly to the operations manager and is responsible for the delivery of plumbing services provided by the business - primarily underground wet utility repair and installation. The individual will support a team consisting of 4 or more field crews and field expediters, as well as interact regularly with drain technicians and other leaders. The role work closely with the sales and customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction, accurate scopes of work, and code compliance.

Primary responsibilities:

- Building and maintaining crew work schedules to efficiently utilize labor and equipment and meet customer needs.

- Coordinate all aspects of jobs including vendors and subcontractors, materials, utility locates, and inspections to allow for on-time and on-budget completion of projects.

- Ensure jobsite safety including conducting crew training and periodic site visits

- Ensure work quality including meeting customer and regulatory expectations. Track and minimize warranty work and breakage.

- Manage field crew performance including productivity, quality, customer service, and safety.

- Provide supervision, coaching, and development to direct reports.

- Track and report plumbing inventory to control costs and ensure sufficient supply for upcoming jobs

- Manage vehicle and equipment maintenance to ensure availability. This includes tracking maintenance status, spare parts, and prioritizing maintenance requests.

- Respond to and resolve customer questions and concerns as they arise and updates scopes of work and quotes/invoices as needed.

- Effectively communicate with inspectors, customers, and other stakeholders.

- Assist crews in overcoming obstacles encountered in the field.

Skills and Experience:

- Residential or Journeyman Plumbing License.

- Customer focused - Strives for solutions that create a 'win' for customers in every interaction.

- Strong communication skills including the ability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders including customers, inspectors, and vendors.

- Experience in excavation or underground utilities helpful, but not required.

- 1-3 years of supervisory experience ideally in construction, plumbing, or related industry.

- Servant leader with track record of supporting and developing employees and creating a high-performance culture.

- Attention to Detail

- Ability to understand and implement safety protocols.

- Overcoming obstacles - This is a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment requiring the ability to problem-solve in real time and work under pressure.

- Bi-lingual (Spanish) helpful, but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 50 per week
