:JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for maintaining the appearance of the pool area to hotel standards at all times. Monitors all activity on the pool deck, enforces pool rules, and provides assistance to guests as needed. Maintains cleanliness of the pool deck area in addition to providing assistance to hotel guests at the pool following check-in at the pool counter.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:xc2xb7 Remains alert to all activity occurring within their assigned section of the pool area throughout their shift.xc2xb7 Treats customers with courtesy and respect at all times.xc2xb7 Remains appropriately groomed as stated in the departmental guidelines appearance code.xc2xb7 Notifies the manager immediately of any problems at the pool requiring any extra ordinary attention (i.e., guest injury, guest employee conflict, etc.).xc2xb7 Ensures all guests follow pool rules (i.e., diving board safety, running, horseplay, etc.).PRIMARY DUTIES:xc2xb7 Place towels and chairs in desired locations in the pool area for guests.xc2xb7 Take in all chairs at the end of the day (stack and cover with the tarp).xc2xb7 Stock pool registration counter with all needed supplies (i.e., folded towels, receipts, log sheets, etc.).xc2xb7 Clean all brass and metal rails in the pool area.xc2xb7 Sweep the pool area (clearing all debris) as needed.xc2xb7 Collect all used items and dispose of properly, (i.e., cups and paper items in the trash, towels in used towel carts, etc.).xc2xb7 Change pool status sign (open at the beginning of the day and close at the end of the day).xc2xb7 Assist technician in keeping appearance of the pools up to hotel standards.xc2xb7 Receive hotel guests at the pool counter, distribute towels and facilitate lotion sales as needed.xc2xb7 Additional related duties as requested by the pool manager.QUALIFICATIONS:xc2xb7 Must be 18 years old or olderxc2xb7 Ability to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds repeatedly during a shift.xc2xb7 Ability to push up to approximately 500 pounds on wheels.xc2xb7 Ability to pull up to approximately 300 pounds.xc2xb7 Ability to perform reaching and stooping motions repeatedly needed for cleaning and stocking work.xc2xb7 Ability to climb ladders as needed for obtaining items located on high shelves and getting on the lifeguard stand.xc2xb7 Tolerance to work outdoors in heat exceeding 100xc2xb0 F for extended periods of time.xc2xb7 Visual abilities needed to effectively monitor the activity taking place in the pool area (and make pool rescues if needed).PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs. Ability to push up to approximately 500 pounds on wheels. Ability to pull up to approximately 300 pounds. Stand and move throughout the pool area as required during an assigned shift in an efficient, expedient manner, regardless of extremes in temperature. Must be able to lift lounge chairs and move towel carts during an assigned shift. Responds to visual and oral cues. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
