A NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available at University of Nevada (UNR) School of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology, Reno, Nevada. The position is available to investigate the neural mechanisms of glucose regulation, hypertension, and metabolic diseases.
The position offers a highly competitive NIH Postdoctoral level salary, benefits, an outstanding research environment here at Center for Molecular & Cellular Signal Transduction in the Cardiovascular system, UNR. The candidate must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in molecular biology, physiology or related fields, and have first author publications in peer reviewed journals. Qualified applicants will be motivated individuals with a strong background in vivo rodent experiments or patch clamp electrophysiology, molecular biology, and able to work independently. Preferred candidates would have expertise either in brain nanoinjection using stereotaxic apparatus or glucose phenotyping. Prospective candidates will be trained in areas including conscious animal blood pressure recording using telemetry system, brain-targeted microinjection for gene or drugs delivery, confocal and super resolution microscopy imaging, molecular and cellular basis study of signaling pathways.
