Employment Type: Full timeShift: Day ShiftDescription:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\xc2\xb7 Demonstrates ability to recognize and assess urgent/emergency needs of patients and initiate appropriate emergency procedures as needed.\xc2\xb7 Demonstrates current level of knowledge of various payor regulations by functioning within those guidelines.\xc2\xb7 Follows clinic procedure/protocol for the organization and management of the electronic medical record (i.e. test results, retrieval, filing, creation, repair, charging of electronic medical record).\xc2\xb7 Acts to facilitate interdisciplinary communication. Utilizes other members of the health care team in assessing the patient and analyzes patient data. Assesses learning needs of the patient and significant others. Gives accurate and complete information to patient and family.\xc2\xb7 Evaluates patient and family understanding of treatment plan and/or instructions.\xc2\xb7 Assists with a variety of procedures, exams and/or operation of diagnostic equipment as assigned (i.e., tympanometry, spirometry, etc.).\xc2\xb7 Maintains appropriate aseptic technique for preparation, procedures and medications administered.\xc2\xb7 Accurately and legibly documents all patient interactions in patient record\xc2\xb7 Reports results and pertinent information to patients and health care team members.\xc2\xb7 Applies professional nursing skills in the provision of preventive health maintenance and treatment of ill and injured patients utilizing the four aspects of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.\xc2\xb7 Proficient in IV skills and IV hydration.MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:\xc2\xb7 Work includes cross coverage in other clinic areas as team needs.\xc2\xb7 Maintains supply inventory and stocks supplies in various work areas.\xc2\xb7 Responsible for following equipment maintenance protocol, identifying problems, and coordinating appropriate repairs.\xc2\xb7 Operates various office machines (i.e. fax, copier, phone and computer).\xc2\xb7 Misc. office duties (i.e. copying, filing, retrieval of electronic records)\xc2\xb7 Functions as a charge/resource nurse for a designated shift as requested\xc2\xb7 Participates in Performance Improvement projectsMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:\xc2\xb7 Possession of a current RN License issued by the State of Iowa.\xc2\xb7 Clinic/Physician office experience preferred.\xc2\xb7 Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.\xc2\xb7 Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population serve within three (3) months of hire.Our Commitment to Diversity and InclusionTrinity Health is one of the largest not-for-profit, Catholic healthcare systems in the nation.
