Open Positions:
  • Team Teacher working with children ages 2 thru 5.
  • Hours: M-F 8:00am to 4:30pm
  • 2024-25 School Year
Teachers will:
  • Build and nurture relationships with the children and their parents/caregivers.
  • Model and support Christian values
  • Work in collaboration with the entire teaching team
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of a play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum under the guidance and supervision of the classroom lead teacher and the preschool director
  • Meet the physical and emotional demands of working with preschool age children
  • Change diapers and assist in toileting including toilet training
Teacher Qualifications:
  • Understand and demonstrate the fundamental characteristics of a play-based curriculum.
  • Minimum of 12 postsecondary semester or equivalent units in early childhood education or child development completed, with passing grades, at an accredited or approved college or university. The units shall include courses that cover the general areas of child growth and development; child, family, and community, and ECE program/curriculum. Your resume should detail the courses taken that fulfill this requirement.
  • Candidates with 6 qualifying ECE units and plans for continued enrollment until the required 12 ECE units have been completed will be considered. Your resume should detail the courses taken that fulfill this requirement along with the units you plan to enroll in.
  • 2 Years experience teaching in a play-based preschool preferred
  • Open to working during the Summer months
Benefits:
  • Teachers earn their regular hourly pay during school-year vacations and holidays (Approximately 5 weeks)

Program Information: Holy Cross Preschool is a licensed, developmentally appropriate, school-year preschool located on the beautiful grounds of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross in Belmont. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join our dedicated team of early childhood educators. At Holy Cross Preschool, we support and encourage the cognitive growth of each child placing particular emphasis on relationship building, social/emotional development, and building academic foundations in a play-based environment. For our teachers, Holy Cross Preschool offers ongoing coaching, low student-teacher ratios, and a collaborative and supportive work environment. Compensation is dependent on experience and education.
