Summary/Objective:

Apply your clinical skills in an environment that fosters lifetime wellness. As a Primary Counselor you will collaborate with a skilled team including the Executive Director and Clinical Director with a shared objective of patient wellbeing.

Duties & Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Directs counseling activities in accord with directions from the Program Director, or designee.

\xc2\xb7 Coordinates alcohol and drug abuse treatment services and primary mental health services with the Program Director, or designee.

\xc2\xb7 Completes duties in a professional and timely manner.

\xc2\xb7 Reports all alleged incidents of abuse or neglect in accordance with all state standards and accrediting bodies.

\xc2\xb7 Ensures that all records are accurate and timely in accordance to OBH policies.

\xc2\xb7 Ensures that all records are available for all state and accrediting bodies\' staff inspection.

\xc2\xb7 Initiates social service assessments of clients, including gathering social histories and other required treatment documentation.

\xc2\xb7 Provides and communicates aftercare recommendations to clients, family members, and the Continuum of Care department.

\xc2\xb7 Trains, or causes to be trained, staff, volunteers, and students under supervision that are a part of an internship or externship from a university or college degree program.

\xc2\xb7 Ensures that all relevant information is provided to the client, the parents or managing conservator of the client on a regular basis and at least weekly.

\xc2\xb7 Coordinates with the Program Director to insure consistency of treatment.

\xc2\xb7 Conducts intakes and screenings on potential clients.

\xc2\xb7 Conducts assessments.

\xc2\xb7 Be responsible for the development of client treatment plans.

\xc2\xb7 Creates discharge summaries and aftercare recommendations.

\xc2\xb7 Facilitates groups and lectures for clients.

\xc2\xb7 Conduct individual counseling sessions on a regular basis and at least weekly for clients on caseload.

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for client case management issues as they may relate to delivery of substance abuse treatment.

\xc2\xb7 Is responsible for general documentation of client records on caseload.

\xc2\xb7 Attends staff meetings as scheduled and as needed.

\xc2\xb7 Is a contributing member of the treatment team.

\xc2\xb7 Protects client\'s rights.

\xc2\xb7 Uphold all Origins Behavioral HealthCare Policies and Procedures.

\xc2\xb7 Maintain client/potential client confidentiality in accordance with Origins\' Policy.

Requirements:

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

• Master\'s degree preferred;
• Must be licensed by the State of Texas as a Qualified Credentialed Counselor (LPC, LCSW) and be in good standing; OR Licensed in the State of Texas as a Qualified Professional (LMHC, LCSW, CAP); OR LPCA or LMSW under supervision and LMHC OR deemed to be capable of delivering counseling services by Clinical Leadership.
• At least one (1) year experience working in substance abuse treatment facility required.
• Work experience in 12-step emersion program preferred.
• If in recovery, one (1) years of continuous sobriety preferred.
