There's a training gap in traditional dietetics education that prevents dietitians from feeling confident in working 1:1 in private practice.
I did my dietetics training at an INCREDIBLE program at Massachusetts General Hospital, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital. While it prepared me very well for many areas of dietetics and gave me a solid foundation,
I only did 10 hours of 1:1 outpatient counseling on my own before I became an RD.
(Shadowing does not count!) I was so not ready for 1:1 work, and wished I had more training, especially as I dove into working with professional athletes.
And now there is more opportunity than ever for dietitians to work in 1:1 counseling roles. But are we ready for it?
I'm closing this massive training gap with the All Access Dietitians Private Practice Fellowship, a paid, remote fellowship program of 500 hours of nutrition coaching and 100 hours of accelerated and rigorous training in our "Dietitian Coach Approach", an approach I developed through additional continuing education after realizing very quickly that my "give you a handout and tell you what I think you should do" approach didn't work.
You'll transform into a gold-standard "Dietitian Coach" that provides excellent care and behavior change guidance, has high retention, and creates incredible impact on your patients' lives.
We currently have 41 fellows who started this past spring/summer, and are excited to bring more onto the All Access Dietitians team!
ABOUT ALL ACCESS DIETITIANS
Based in Chicago, IL, All Access Dietitians provides virtual nutrition counseling and health coaching to clients in 12 states (more coming soon!), are in-network with multiple insurance companies, and have contracts with organizations.
Our "Dietitian Coach Approach" combines the expertise of a registered dietitian with the behavior change guidance of a health coach, allowing us to provide our clients with a truly sustainable wellness solution.
Since 2009, Founder, Jenny Westerkamp, has been passionate about helping registered dietitians launch their careers with confidence through her other company All Access Dietetics. Through meeting and speaking with thousands of future and new dietitians,
she found a training gap that prevented new dietitians from feeling confident and having the skills necessary to work in a competitive nutrition counseling role or start their own private practice.
THE MISSION OF THE FELLOWSHIP
Our mission is to provide accelerated and rigorous training and development that aims to close this skill and knowledge gap for dietitians. The hope is that this changes the trajectory of the fellows' careers and gets them into high-paying roles or starting high-profit private practices sooner than without the fellowship. Fellows will also be considered for a Dietitian Coach role with All Access Dietitians at the completion of their fellowship program.
