Job Description


Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource in the largest private mining land package in the U.S. The mine is located in White Pine County, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world, along the southern extension of the prolific Carlin trend. Bald Mountain and the nearby Round Mountain mine make up Kinross\' Nevada operations.Bald Mountain is an important contributor to the economy of northeastern Nevada and maintains a comprehensive environmental strategy including wildlife protection, habitat recovery and education.Under the supervision of the Ore Processing Superintendent, the incumbent ensures that the Mechanical and Electrical maintenance and repair of process facilities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross\' values.Job Responsibilities1. Ensure the safety of all personnel.
2. Drive all maintenance activities, execute work schedule, and assign personnel.
3. Working with the process operations group and the process technical services group to plan, monitor, and execute predictive, preventive, and general maintenance.
4. Identify duration of maintenance or repair activity on process equipment or facilities.
5. Guide the diagnoses and troubleshooting out of the ordinary equipment or fixed maintenance problems.
6. Maintain accurate and up to date records of work performed.
7. Continually look for ways to improve the maintenance process.
8. Oversee the planer position to use the Kinross Way for Maintenance.
9. Ensure training, opportunities, feedback, and discipline are provided to all personnel in a fair and consistent manner.
10. Respond to equipment emergencies on a 24-hour basis. Write performance evaluations and make recommendations for promotion, deliver discipline as needed for all process maintenance personal.
11. Perform daily administrative duties such as time cards, reports, supply requisitions and attendance tracking.
12. Help develop maintenance personnel to accomplish their career goals.
13. Conduct safety meetings and participate in daily-lineouts.
14. Conduct accident or incident investigations.
15. Monitor costs against the budget to ensure the Process Maintenance group is operating to budget.
16. Works as part of the Process team to sure alignment and success of the department
17. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
18. Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
19. Works without risk or harm to self and others.
20. Punctuality and regular attendance required.
21. Performs other related functions as assigned.Qualifications and Skill Requirements1. Must be able to prioritize effectively as conflicting priorities may play a major role in this position.
2. Must be able to problem solve and remove roadblocks.
3. Must ensure continuity of maintenance and communications with operations crews on rotating schedules.
4. Must be able to lead employees toward achieving individual, team, and company goals.
5. Experience with JDE is preferred. Planning experience is preferred.
6. Competent P.C. skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software preferred.
7. At least five years\' experience in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance.
8. Three years\' experience in a supervisory capacity.
9. Must be willing to work nights and weekends. (As needed)
10. Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Strong understanding of maintenance functions, and flow as well as limited understanding of leaching operations.
12. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
13. Strong administrative and organization skills.
14. Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
15. Must be 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
16. Requires valid driver\'s license.Kinross Competencies
