Our product team maintains the skills necessary to come up with effective solutions that are valuable (to our members and prospects), viable (the solution works within the many constraints of the business model), usable (the end user can figure out how to use) and feasible (our engineers have the skills and technology to implement).
The Product Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Risk & Strategy will:
Manage key risk discipline and governance activities across multiple products in coordination with multiple business and risk partners
Lead and coordinate issues management, oversight of MSIF remediations, process and procedures, risk and control review & testing, and process optimization
Contribute toward leveraging insights, research, and initiative execution that drive the product overall strategy
The Product Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Risk & Strategy is a critical member of the product team and helps maintain a culture of ownership and accountability.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for monitoring risk across Laurel Road Products. Develop methodologies and identify best practices for assessing and controlling risk across these key areas.
Partner and support work of product managers and other team members to build and deliver enhancements to Laurel Road\xe2\x80\x99s product capabilities. Collaborate with designers, software engineers, and others across the organization for alignment and transparency.
Partner with product development teams to identify, document, and resolve risk related issues from product inception through to launch
Centralized ownership of ongoing risk evaluations, including alignment with risk management framework, proper control placement, annual reviews, and identification of opportunities to optimize processes.
Product MSIF Oversight; ensure accuracy of root cause, effectiveness of remediation, work with the cross-functional team to resolve the issue in a timely manner and communicate to leadership / escalate where needed.
Provide thought leadership and challenge the status quo to identify opportunities for risk process optimization, creation of automated and detective controls.
Stay connected across Laurel Road and Key Bank partners to proactively identity potential business changes that may impact business risk.
Advocate implementation of new processes and procedures to mitigate risk.
Support the line of business through project management of cross-functional strategic initiatives across all areas of Laurel.
Develop strong relationships with the core product teams and Risk partners; serve as a liaison between risk, change management, and the business. Capture and ensure key functional risk requirements are translated to the business and clearly communicated to leadership.
Be a champion for Laurel Road Product and help risk partners to understand the uniqueness of our digital business. Work with all our partners to modify procedures and controls to ensure they are appropriately tailored for both our business and regulatory needs.
Manage and coordinate BRC controls, assessment, and testing; engaging owners and managers as needed.
Preferred Education/Experience:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business, marketing, information systems management or equivalent preferred
3+ years of product management experience
Experience developing product strategy and establishing product positioning
Strong risk and controls acumen
A strong understanding of analytical tools (SAS, Tableau etc.); the ability to gather data from multiple sources, the ability to work with these tools without aide and the ability to analyze data to make actionable recommendations.
Experience working in a collaborative, fast passed, agile, and data-driven environment.
Strong Microsoft PowerPoint and excel skills and experience
Understanding of the business and financial drivers for banking/financial services
Ability to think/act strategically and deliver business plan goals
Ability to work with a team of knowledge professionals and partners
Ability to work effectively with middle level managers and with large interdisciplinary teams
Ability to work independently, delivering tasks efficiently and effectively
Strong communication skills (written, verbal, active-listening); ability to structure and deliver clearly articulate presentation
