World Centric is a leader in providing innovative environmentally friendly packaging solutions for the food service industry. We are looking for a motivated engineering technician to help take our offerings to the next level as well as enter new product channels. This position will work with the product development and R&D teams to design, prototype, and test various packaging solutions using a variety of testing methods and equipment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter that is eager to solve new challenges that will take on projects with a high level of autonomy.

This role will be located at our site in Stone Mountain, GA (greater Atlanta metro area). This position will report to the Director of Product Development and Engineering with normal working hours. .

Essential Responsibilities of Product Testing Engineer

Manages incoming custom product samples by performing testing, cataloging samples, and recording results.

Assists R&D engineers and scientists to test prototype concepts using 3D printing, compression molding, thermoforming, extrusion, injection molding, film sealing, and coating.

Designs, fabricates, and assembles various test and prototype process setups.

Test packaging prototypes and materials for thermal, barrier, and mechanical properties.

Generate and maintain a World Centric materials and solutions library.

Help transfer materials from prototypes to production through knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience for Product Testing Engineer

BS or associates degree in mechanical engineering or other related technical field.

Minimum 1-3+ years related hands on experience operating machinery, prototyping, or manufacturing.

Experience making prototypes using hand tools.

Proficient communication skills including ability to present concepts for review.

Preferred for Product Testing Engineer

Experience with 3D CAD modeling software (Solidworks preferred).

Experience with manufacturing processes including injection molding, extrusion, vacuum forming, compression molding, etc.

Previous experience with advanced prototyping methods including 3D printing, CNC, welding, etc.

Physical Logistics

On-site full time role with flexibility to work remote when it makes sense.
