Wickham Industries is the parent company of Wickham Glass and ITI Glass.
Wickham glass was founded in 1946 by Benjamin and Violet Wickham. Through decades of quality service and skilled craftsmanship, the company has become a leading glazing subcontractor in the Wichita area and remains family-owned.
ITI Glass was founded in 1975 and is a regional fabricator of architectural glass and metal, serving commercial glazing contractors and manufacturers of shower doors and commercial windows. ITI began fabricating insulating and heat-treating glass for Wichita area glazing contractors and Pizza Hut Corporation throughout the country.
About the role
A Production Worker is learning about the manufacturing world. You will do activities such as processing and packaging of materials for production along with being expected to undertake a variety of tasks in the assembly line.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Working under the supervision of the Team Lead, your tasks will include various stages of glass handling, processing, and fabricating.
- Understanding of the mechanics and the product.
- Attention to detail to build correctly and to pick up any faults.
- Physically demanding job as some lifting is required.
- Flexibility to work in other departments and complete other tasks as required.
- To attend supervision, training, and meetings when required.
- Any other jobs around the factory that may be deemed necessary.
Location & Commitment
- Permanent full-time role based at our Bel Aire building. 1st Shift 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
- Overtime may be required to ensure customer projects are delivered on time
Requirements
- Lifting glass and related products weighing up to 75 lbs. on a frequent basis (infrequently, you will be required to lift weights greater than 75 lbs. with assistance)
- Physical activities with these weights include lifting products from horizontal to vertical positions, carrying products, stooping, bending, and twisting.
- Dependable transportation to and from work
- Meet the deadlines of individual production tasks during the shift
- Report on defective products or machinery
- Check stock levels and report deficiencies in products or materials
- Keep the worksite clean to avoid hazards from chemicals and fragile products
- Review and follow manufacturing manuals
- Follow the company\'s safety and quality guidelines
- Good physical fitness
- Basic mechanical works experience
- Must be safety cautious
- Knowledge of basic safety rules and precautionary measures (safety gear will be provided)
