Overview:The Program Assistant III supports the School of Teacher Education and Leadership (TEAL) Advising Center and elementary/secondary faculty members by assisting with schedules, program applications/admissions, student files, licensure, meeting minutes, maintains and creates website content. The incumbent in this position is responsible for maintaining and coordinating Scholarship Awards with the Department Scholarship Committee, Department Business Manager and the College Scholarship Specialist.   • Provides support to all TEAL advisors (Logan and Statewide) by assisting with advising appointments, answering general program questions, and directing students to website resources.
  • Maintains program admission applications, student files, provides data to Accreditation and Undergraduate Affairs office to admit and clear students for registration, prepares admissions statistics, and tracks student registrations.
  • Attends Secondary Teacher Education Program (STEP) meetings and Education Advising Team (EAT) meetings, takes minutes, logs STEP applications, and maintains student files in EGrad.
Education Block Coordination
  • Logs block applications for Logan and Statewide campuses.
  • Provides admissions, registration information, course enrollment, and program changes to students.
  • Communicates with block coordinators regarding enrollment and section caps, tracks student registrations, gathers student evaluations, and provides additional assistance as needed.
  • Monitors studentxe2x80x99s status (background checks, grades, GPA, etc.) and keeps advisors informed of any deficiencies.
TEAL Department Awards and Scholarships
  • Maintains department scholarships in current University-wide system.
  • Schedules and facilitates scholarship committee/reviewerxe2x80x99s meetings.
  • Consults with Business Manager to identify scholarship award amounts.
  • Provides recipient list to College Scholarship Specialist.
  • Coordinates and manages the Departmentxe2x80x99s Annual Awards and Scholarship Ceremony, including maintaining scholarship donor lists for invitations, and managing all event details (catering, facility, presenters, etc.).
ELED 1010 Coordination
  • Coordinates with instructors and EBLS teachers of dates/times to schedule students for observations.
  • Visits ELED 1010 classes to present information to students about the observation process and schedules observation dates/times.
  • Creates electronic calendars for teachers to track student observations.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications
  • Four years of experience; or an associate degree/technical training plus two years of experience; or a bachelorxe2x80x99s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
