Pay Range: $60,225 - $75,283
Schedule: Hybrid

Purpose

The Program Coordinator - Workforce Development and Supply Chain is a role within Avangrid Renewables\' business responsible for the organization, communication, and tracking of Connecticut workforce development and supply chain bid commitments. The role will report to the Lead, Workforce Development and Supply Chain and will require local travel up to 30% of the job position to engage with external stakeholders.

The successful candidate must be extremely organized with an attention to detail and experience in managing sensitive and sometimes confidential relationships, compliance, and workforce development programs for a large-scale infrastructure project, with a preference towards-utility scale transmission or other comparable marine construction projects.

As part of the US Offshore Wind Development team, this role will coordinate and track compliance with the stated commitments/obligations during planning, construction, and operational phases of the project. The position is based in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and advance partnerships primarily in MA to train local workforce, working alongside universities, community colleges, vocational technical and high schools, economic development councils, NGOs, etc.
  • Identify Project and Supply chain strategies to address the offshore wind industry\'s current gaps in workforce development
  • Monitor and provide feedback to existing and future workforce development and supply chain programs and refine through internal and external collaboration
  • Develop and implement internal process to ensure contractor compliance with local commitments
  • Identify opportunities to ensure key demographics and underrepresented populations have access to workforce opportunities and where applicable, identify and work to address barriers to entry

  • Proactively engage with economic development councils, local chambers of commerce, and business association groups in target communities around local offshore wind supply chain opportunities
  • Participate as a key member of the outreach team, identifying opportunities to advance workforce and supply chain efforts within project communities
  • Build network of local business stakeholders
  • Ensure workforce development and supply chain efforts are well integrated with each other
  • Determine pathways for making connections of local businesses into supply chain, focused on primary suppliers
Skills and Requirements
  • An Associates\' or Bachelors\' Degree in, environmental studies/science, or related field from an accredited program or relevant professional experience.
  • 2+ years\' experience in environmental and/or construction compliance, workforce development or supply chain integration; preferably in the offshore construction industry (knowledge of offshore wind desirable).
  • Experience working in Connecticut with teams involved in large projects desired.
  • Knowledge of the Connecticut Workforce Development System and its association with Community Colleges, Labor Unions, Vocational Education and 4 Year degree granting higher educational institutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Pro-active and diligent approach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. A demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels within a company and externally to diverse audiences and stakeholders preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Able to adapt and work in a fast-paced working environment and responsive to change.
  • Ability to provide accurate, concise, and timely advice to teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong planning, organizing, delegation, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with the communities and contractors in which Avangrid Renewables is working with Bridgeport and Connecticut is highly desired.
