Summary The Program Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing council-led programs for girls that support the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. The Program Coordinator manages event and program development, curriculum, logistics, execution, and marketing and promotion of programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • With the Program Manager-GSLE, develop and execute the Highest Awards program, ensuring a timely, girl-focused process that promotes success and award achievement. Develop and execute training that supports these processes and engages leaders and volunteers in supporting the program. Provide supportive, timely support, proposal, and project feedback and approvals to girls and members. Plan and execute the Highest Awards Ceremony. Manage and lead a volunteer committee to support the program.
  • Design, coordinate, and deliver quality events and curricula that help Girl Scouts River Valleys attract and retain girls and volunteers. Develop curriculum, deliver programs, and provide training, support, and supervision to contract staff or volunteers delivering programs. Manage all logistics, budgets, and administrative tasks related to the programs. Manage marketing and promotions to ensure events reach a wide audience and events fill.
  • In addition to developing Council-led programs, develop and maintain program curriculum for use by volunteers in delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Work with volunteers and staff colleagues to understand the needs of volunteers and girls and develop programs that help them successfully attract and retain girls.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with identified program partners and organizations that expand Girl Scouts\xe2\x80\x99 visibility and provide additional program opportunities for girl members. Coordinate support for identified partners, including developing curriculum, managing promotion, coordinating all event logistics, and serving as the primary contact to program partners to ensure an outstanding partnership experience.
  • Serve as a thought leader for girl program opportunities, meeting the demands of changing girl interests. Maintain proficiency in girl/adult-related trends, multicultural data and demographics, marketing and sales techniques, effective communication, and knowledge of communities and organizations.
  • Serve as part of the Program team, supporting each other in creating and delivering the best programming for girls. Maintain strong working relationships with colleagues on the Volunteer Support and Community Partnerships Teams, working together to achieve goals.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with colleagues across operations functions and partners across the council. Actively participate in All Staff meetings, staff-in-service training, and other meetings.
  • When representing the council to both internal and external audiences, articulate GSRV\xe2\x80\x99s desired image and position to all audiences
  • Support the council\xe2\x80\x99s commitment to diversity of girls, volunteers, and staff and conduct all activities with a high degree of cultural competency.
  • Contribute to building a cohesive, flexible, and productive staff environment that demonstrates the values and mission of Girl Scouts and delivers high-quality customer service.

Qualifications


Education and Experience Required:
  • One year of experience in recreation, youth or program development, education, social services or a related field or a combination of equivalent knowledge and experience.

Preferred:
  • Work experience in a volunteer organization preferably in the youth program development and delivery field in a non-profit environment.
  • Knowledge of or experience in Girl Scouts is desirable.
  • Bilingual

  • Excellent technical computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, database management, email and social media etiquette, and Salesforce.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects while managing conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent independent decision-making skills and strong resourcefulness.
  • Must have access to personal transportation daily for business travel, valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license, and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as required by position responsibilities.
