Job Description


Job Summary

The Prevention and Community System Development Community Program Manager is responsible for the development of specialized community systems development to best address the needs of targeted children, youth, and family in key areas of need in the tribal community. Incumbent will be responsible for the creation of cross agency services, special trainings for staff and community on aspects of care and cross agency referral and tracking and services for targeted populations. Development of community advisory committees, representative of the tribal community, creation of the planning process, meetings, timelines, and submission of reports on grant compliance and changes in policy on service delivery. Development of enhanced opportunities for healthy living guided by cultural values and increased quality public health services. This position coordinates prevention and system of care services cross tribal array of targeted services.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise assigned employees and contracted staff, prioritize and assign work, create a scope of work, conduct performance evaluations as needed, ensure staff is trained, ensure employees follow policies and procedures, maintain a healthy and safe working environment, make hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations to theProgram Director.
  • Provide oversight of assigned staff, prioritize and assign work, create scope ofwork.
  • Develop and coordinate advisory committees, coalitions of keystakeholders.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate strategic plans, program goals objectives; interpret and apply policies and procedures within thescope of the program
  • Direct staff in provisions of stated goals anddirection.
  • Oversee the needs of Sewa Uusim grants that apply to the specific position as directed by the Program Director, reviewing forms and documents forcompliance with grant/programinitiatives.
  • Manage related programs, including but not limited to: personnel, scheduling, supplyandmaterialrequirements,budgetdevelopmentandutilizationreporting.
  • Provide research, analysis, and recommendations to the Project Director; identify potential prevention service needs and training to provide youth and their families withresources to obtain positive therapeutic outcomes and achieve life balance; may be responsible for implementingtrainings.
  • Administer and monitor the grant/project budget(s) including allocatingresources and approvingexpenditures.
  • Serve as a liaison with other public agencies, municipalities, citizens, and externalorganizations.
  • Research, develop and prepare a variety of reports, correspondenceand documentation; analyzes statistics anddata.
  • Respond to and resolve sensitive questions or concerns from the public,the community, andstaff.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by supervisor or director.

  • Apply and explain applicable laws, codes, regulation, policies and/or procedures;
  • Prepare and proofread a variety of reports and/or documentation;
  • Operate a variety of office equipment, including a computer and related software applications;
  • Have ability to sufficiently exchange or convey information and receive verbal and written work instructions;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, management, Council members, and the public.
Education, Certifications and Experience Required

Bachelor\'s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or field related to assignment and/or five (5) years of experience in the related field with a minimum of two (2) years supervisor or lead experience.

AND
  • Experience with Systems of Care concept is preferred;
  • Experience with Native American Community Health is preferred;
  • Experience with community resource and education programs is preferred.
