The Program Specialist II position is in the Department\'s Public Health Services Division. This position serves as a special assistant to the County Health Officer working on projects related health equity, developing a health in all policies approach, and implementing an integrated vision for health. Position Duties

  • Provide administrative support, project coordination, and serve as a communication liaison
  • Assist the County Health Officer in policy and procedure development; data management and analysis; meeting coordination and support; stakeholder engagement; and may assist with special projects as assigned
  • Assist in the creation of talking points and presentations, draft newsletter articles, ensure timelines and deadlines are met and report on progress, barriers and/or delays
  • Assemble appropriate stakeholders around specific issues; review and report on relevant data from the stakeholders
  • May represent the County Health Officer in meetings and engage with stakeholders on the County Health Officer\'s behalf

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: Two years professional experience in public health or related field

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor\'s Degree. Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Preferred Criteria

There is no Preferred Criteria. All applicants will be reviewed by OHR for minimum qualifications. Those applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be rated Qualified, placed on the Eligible List, and may be considered for an interview.

Preference for interviews will be given to applicants with experience in the following:
  • Passion for improving public health achieving health equity and an attitude of cultural humility
  • Bachelor\'s degree in public health, health administration or related field
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and standard office software and applications
  • Proficiency in data management, analysis, and presentation
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
