Will you be the next person to join us at Dakota County?This position is part of a team of five supervisors responsible for ensuring smooth child support program operations and service to County residents. The person hired will be overseeing staff specializing in the three distinct program functions: investigating and preparing cases for establishing paternity and support, enforcing cases with existing court orders, and training & unit support.Work is performed in a hybrid environment, requiring a minimum of one-day per week in the office, and requires overseeing staff who work in a hybrid, but mostly remote work environment.Minimum QualificationsBachelor\'s Degree AND Four years related program experience in a Government Public Assistance Agency, Child Support Agency, Employment Services Program agency.
OR
Master\'s Degree AND Two years related program experience in a Government Public Assistance Agency, Child Support Agency, Employment Services Program agency.
OR
High School Diploma AND Eight years related program experience in a Government Public Assistance Agency, Child Support Agency, Employment Services Program agency.
OR
Any combination of the above four to equal eight years.

  • Please Note that at least two years of the above-required program experience must have occurred in the past five years in Minnesota.
Preferred Experience beyond Minimum Qualifications:
\xc2\xb7 Previous experience as a lead worker, supervisor, or manager.Duties & ResponsibilitiesThese examples do not include all possible tasks in this work and do not limit the assignment of related tasks in any position of this classification. Regular attendance according to the position\'s management approved work schedule is required for all positions.1. Plan, design, and direct the implementation of new and existing programs, processes, and initiatives.
2. Analyze and interpret legislation, rules, and statutes to develop policy.
3. Manage daily unit operations and coordinate with other units and departments.
4. Supervise entry level and advance program staff positions to ensure comprehensive service delivery to Country residents.
5. Develop job descriptions and set performance measures for staff.
6. Initiate and complete the hiring of staff, manage personnel issues.
7. Demonstrate a commitment to support cultural diversity County wide, actively supports the County\'s diversity initiatives, and works to address the needs of diverse and underrepresented communities.
8. Manage contracted services and oversee the provision of services related to contractual agreements and governing entities.
9. Prepare and deliver community education programs.
10. Represent the agency in legal settings, internal and external workgroups, and advisory committees.

Some travel is required. Lifting requirement of up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
