Your Opportunity

We are currently looking to add a Project Controls Specialist to support program and project management activities within the PMCM Team. In the role, the individual will be able to apply technical skills in cost controls, schedule management, communications, and problem solving in a fast-paced, professional, design and construction environment under the guidance of Project Management, Program Management and Program Controls Staff.

Your Key Responsibilities

Support Program teams in developing, managing, updating, and monitoring the program schedule as well as individual project schedules.

Developing progress reports and maintaining integrated key performance metrics (KPIs)

Developing, managing, and monitoring and controlling program and project specific budgets, cash flow projections, and forecasts.

Working with schedulers for construction contractors, client staff, and program and project management team members to obtain the latest schedules in the appropriate program format for each phase (bid/award, materials delivery, construction, start-up) and task (including land acquisition, permits, and environmental) and incorporate required content into schedule updates.

Supporting, documenting, and tracking change management processes for potential adjustments to scope, schedule, or budget

Interfacing and maintaining liaison with program and project management, stakeholders, client, contractors, and other consultants on all project controls related activities.

Ensure project control processes are in place to analyze project performance including change control, project updating, and reporting.

Monitor project progress with regards to scope, time, and costs. Provide corrective solutions if deviations occur.

Document and communicate variance and trend analyses according to the change control process.

Display understanding of the role of performance measurement to produce a record of past performance, identify trends and forecast future performance in a manner that informs and drives management intervention.

Follow project and program reporting processes and execute appropriate reporting cycles.

Utilize a single source of truth repository for project data and dashboard reporting.

Attend all change control meetings as well as project controls meetings.

Support Program teams in Program Management Information Systems implementation and best practices in the areas of Program and Project Controls

Support the maintenance of business processes, systems, and tools to enable project controls functions to be sustained over the life of the Program.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Understanding of project control concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.

Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.

Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.

Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings and to engage in creative and critical thought.

Proficient in Primavera P6 software including ability to review and manage cost-loaded and resource-loaded schedules.

Experience with Microsoft Project

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and other normal business applications

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to concurrently manage multiple assignments and quickly adapt to new priorities.

Education and Experience

Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, or related field

3-5 years of experience developing and maintaining resource-loaded, critical path method project schedules for complex capital construction projects and managing contract management information.

PMP certification preferred

If candidate is located outside of Boise, Idaho, frequent travel will be required to client site.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Salary Range(s):

  • $88,000 - $127,600 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
