HOURS OF WORK: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
LOCATION: 3000 Arctic BlvdExample of DutiesThe main purpose of this position is to assist with special initiatives. These may include, but are not limited to: cartography, data analytics, spatial analysis, business process improvements, large format scanning, filing, word processing, labelling, organizing regular and oversize documents, upgrading permitting processes and information, helping with platting cases, coordination with other agencies, project inspections, requests for professional services (soils, survey), and administration of contracts. Position allows for work under the mentorship of seasoned engineers. The positions require strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with work processing programs and spreadsheets. A good driving record, strong people skills, and analytical skills are also required.Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / PreferencesEducationHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and enrollment in years three (3) or four (4) of a four-year degree program at an accredited college or university.ORHigh school diploma, GED or equivalent, and enrollment in a two (2) year certified vocational/technical program or an apprenticeship program from an industry recognized institution in the assigned occupational field, and one (1) year of experience.LicenseMust possess a valid State of Alaska Driver\'s License.PreferenceCollege or university students majoring in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering; construction management; geomatics; or similar discipline.Must have completed at least 30 credit hours of courses at the time of hire.Additional Important InformationThe Municipality of Anchorage participates in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security E-verify Program.
