Summary: Responsible for preforming all duties on a professional level and complying with the Production Superintendent, under direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor. Working from general instructions from the plant management team, and all levels within the organization in support of the four Johns Manville core values: People, Passion, Performance, and Protection.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements.
• Show initiative in supporting safety, plant wide. Participate on committees as required.
• Trains and instructs new or lesser experienced employees as required.
• Ensures that all Housekeeping & 5S areas of responsibility have been completed before end of shift and keeps equipment, work areas and other prescribed areas clean and orderly at all times.
• Wears all required and proper PPE.
• Operates a lift truck or other material handling equipment in servicing production as required (must be properly licensed).
• Uses safe work practices and reports hazardous conditions at all times to supervisor.
• Complete computer-based training and all other programs needed to stay in compliance with company policies.
• Receives and follows verbal and written instructions from supervisor or leader.
• Prepares production reports as directed or required.
• Must be able to operate the comet and the table saw
• Take Off- Remove form PVC fittings from table saw and place them on the next table which is the band saw.
• Flip the PVC fittings at the table
• Trimming PVC fittings with hand scissors to the correct lengths
• Reports equipment malfunctions, operation delays, or product defects immediately to supervisor or leader.
• Conducts all Cut & Curl tasks independently and at set production rate
• Prepares production reports as directed or required.
• Performs other job or duties as directed or required.
• Performs molding operation for PVC fittings, on unit or line as directed.
• Inspect fittings for obvious defects-surface, thickness, other as directed- a beginning of shift, and throughout the production run.
• Operate Horizontal Band Saw & Small Mike Thermoformer
• Cross trained in either the 300 room, Inline, or Comet
• Floor Grinder start/stop
• Assist with Horizontal blade change
• Monitor & train new operators on Cut & Curl Tasks
• Perform Cut & Curl TPM

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications necessary to meet basic requirements:

• High School diploma or GED
• Flexible in work and assignments
• Must successfully complete job-related training program
• Licensed to operate lift truck and material handling equipment
• Knowledge of all safety requirements.
