LOCATION: 250 Miller Place, Hicksville, NY 11801
HOURS: 8:30am - 5:00pm; some flexibility
FULL TIME: Benefits eligible
In this role you will:
Works together with the QA manager in monitoring the performance of the laboratory by performing quality assurance audits, inspections and preparing written reports.
Provides recommendations for quality improvement in the laboratory
Assists in trouble shooting activities in QA
Maintain written documentation of monthly quality control review.
Assists in maintaining the laboratory\xe2\x80\x99s Safety Program
Maintain quality assurance records such as control charts, control limits, corrective action reports and other QA activities
Maintain proficiency testing sample analysis relating to scheduling, reporting and documentation
Performs QA orientation and training for employees.
Complete monthly in-house and external QC reporting
Interact with regulatory agencies during inspections
Assists in preparing written responses regarding laboratory deficiencies and corrective action as necessary
Interact with department manager/supervisor regarding the QC program
All you need is:
New York State License (Medical Technologist)
Bachelors Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
ASCP, preferred
One year experience in developing, implementing, and coordinating QC/QA activities
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
Detailed knowledge of the Quality Assurance process including rules based quality control monitoring which may vary depending on the complexity of testing
Willingness to work with laboratory staff to improve overall quality in the laboratory and assist with any quality-related problems
Salary Range: $40.00 to $50.00 per hour (depending on experience). Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
