Job Description

JOB SUMMARY



Under general direction of the Production Supervisor, coordinates the implementation of quality standards and systems, monitors that standards are being met, improves systems, tests in a control environment the characteristics of the product and process, helps troubleshooting problems, ensures compliance with both internal (regional, national managers) and external (industry codes, local, state and federal regulations) customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility Utilizes systems methodology to conduct business activities. Follow standards established to carry out troubleshooting, testing, calibration, organization, and project management. Reduces color variation in the manufacturing process, quality forms control and database entry. Performs and documents dry tile testing as per the QC plan. Reports all product exceptions as per non-conforming materials procedures. Monitors color consistency and overall quality during extrusion, stacking, and once the product reaches the yard. Performs visual inspection of finished goods daily with the yard supervisor and shift manager. Manages the color formulas to ensure accuracy to the Bill of Materials and color visual standards. Maintains a current formula binder current and readily available on the production floor. Conducts monthly audits to ensure accuracy All other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES



Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, equipment manuals, and company manuals and procedures. Demonstrate manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude Good communication skills and ability to read, speak, write English (bilingual Spanish helpful) Ability to observe, identify, deduce and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions Quick learner and ability to work under minimal supervision Math skills and computer skills

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE



Associates Degree and/or post-high school technical training highly desired, or equivalent experience 4+ years of related experience required - in a manufacturing environment preferred but willing to train

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT




The employee should possess the ability to:

Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out Prolong standing or in stationary position Complete repetitive movements Bend and/or twist Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds Ability to move or traverse about the facilities Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)
