Overview:We\'re hiring! Kemin is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to join our team at our Headquarters\' located in Des Moines, Iowa. Responsibilities:
  • Data Review and Release
  • Perform various types of raw material and finished goods data review.
  • Responsible for raw material and finished goods release, with authorization, as applicable.
  • Review batch records, as applicable.
  • Generate and review Certificates of Analysis
  • Quality Management System Maintenance
  • Assist with development and maintenance of the ISO 17025 quality program.
  • Assist with coordination of internal/external audits, document control, investigation of non-conforming work, corrective/preventative actions, customer complaints, management review, and the proficiency testing program.
  • Must aid in the creation of all procedures and SOPs/forms.
  • Must maintain proper quality documentation.
  • Assist with change management under supervision, as necessary.
  • Participate in internal audits, as applicable.
  • Report any nonconformities by following applicable SOPs.
  • Generate nonconformities report and communicate to stakeholders, as applicable.
  • Perform supplier qualification tests, as applicable.
  • Assist with method validation process and perform method transfer(s).
  • Follow and maintain an environment of food and/or feed safety in compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Laboratory Analysis
  • Record basic data and perform intermediate data analysis.
  • Daily data entry into LIMS system where applicable.
  • Operate and maintain most lab instruments.
  • Must follow good lab procedures, safety,etc.
  • Must work closely with cross functional teams including; Operations, R&D, and other quality groups.
  • May collect samples, prepare shipments, and inspect raw materials and finished goods.
Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience:
  • Associate\'s Degree in a related field with 5+ years of related experience OR
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in a related field with 3+ years of related experience OR
  • Master\'s Degree in a related field with up to 2 years of related experience
  • ISO 17025 experience is preferred.
  • Advanced working knowledge on most lab instruments.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to use computer systems, including MS Office, M3, LIMS, etc.
  • Must have attention to detail.
  • Must have project management skills.
  • Familiarity with SPC principles and practices.
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, perform maintenance, instruct and perform method validation on lab equipment.
  • Ability to interact well with others in a team environment.
