Performs a variety of radiologic exams to aid the providers in diagnosis and treatment of their patients. Performs exams in a timely and professional manner with emphasis on production of quality radiographs and customer service. Arrives at designated area on time and prepares the work area for stock and cleanliness while starting up all x-ray or computer units as per department protocol. Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Protects patient, self, and other staff from radiation and other safety hazards. Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety which involves operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients and includes proper infection control procedures for the work area while complying with safety standards. Selects proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis using the principles of ALARA and adjusts and sets radiographic controls. Positions patients and takes x-ray exams as ordered by healthcare providers of CNY Family Care. Processes radiographs using the Carestream CR system and sends images to Viztek PACS. Evaluates radiographs and repeats as needed. Utilizes Medent, the electronic medical record at CNY Family Care, to verify orders, document x-ray releases, route imaging reports to patient charts, and other associated patient care functions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Associate\'s degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in science/radiologic technology or equivalent certificate from an accredited radiologic technology program; and one to three years related experience and/or training working as a radiologic technologist in either a hospital or a medical practice environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
New York state license in diagnostic radiography
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration preferred
