Position: Radiology Manager Reports To: Senior Director of Operations Schedule: Position Location/Department: Radiology Job Summary: Provide leadership, strategic direction and general management of the Diagnostic Imaging Department, ensuring a high quality, responsive, patient focused service that meets the needs of all customers and the business. Maximize opportunities to develop the Diagnostic Imaging business, increasing operational efficiency to achieve optimum utilization of assets in line with, and in support of, the hospital Business Plan. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide visible leadership and direction and strong levels of clinical engagement.
Encourage and maintain an open and participative culture, fostering a supportive environment for staff and Consultants; developing a cohesive team across three sites.
Manage and motivate the operational team by promoting an open learning environment and encouraging acceptance to change for the sake of improvement and best practice.
Develop and maintain an effective communication plan to ensure that staff are engaged with the vision for the Diagnostic Imaging department and the hospital.
Manage direct reports effectively, delegating appropriately and holding them accountable for the delivery of specific objectives and targets.
Maximize the performance and potential of direct reports through regular performance coaching and review, reflective practice and ensuring they meet the required standards in their current job and develop their skills and knowledge.
Build a pipeline of talent and succession planning that will sustain the performance of all imaging services in the future.
Work closely with members of the hospitals management team to deliver the successful implementation of key initiatives within the hospital and deliver the hospital clinical, commercial and operational targets.
Contribute in management meetings in an innovative and participative manner.
Manage the consistent delivery of customer expectations in all aspects of the patient experience, and instill a culture of excellent customer service throughout the Diagnostic Imaging Department and monitor effectiveness/success via patient satisfaction, clinical incidents and complaints.
Build and maintain excellent multidisciplinary Consultant relationships ensuring service delivery meets clinical requirements and maximizes revenue generation.
Ensure that new and existing Consultants are compliant with expected clinical standards.
Effective liaison with Radiologists to ensure that all images are reported within specified time limits and that the service meets referring Consultant\xe2\x80\x99s requirements.
Ensure that the Diagnostic Imaging Department is a healthy and safe environment for all concerned.
Manage clinical complaints and take corrective action where appropriate.
Responsible for induction training of new staff and developing the knowledge and skills of existing staff in line with hospital and personal objectives.
Ensures all staff in the team conducts themselves in a professional manner, are well presented and responsible for their discipline in accordance with Company policy.
Responsible for developing, monitoring and reviewing operating policies in an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
Encourages a positive, can do attitude within the team at all times.
Reviews the performance and competence of staff through annual appraisal, identifying training needs and arranging for its provision in conjunction with Human Resources.
Monitors staff turnover on a regular basis identifying reasons for employees leaving and developing strategies to address if required in conjunction with Human Resources.
Ensures all employees within each department attend and complete their annual statutory and mandatory training.
Assist with the managing of investigations, grievance and disciplinary procedures as part of the management team.
Manages and reviews annual leave entitlement to ensure that staffing levels remain appropriate throughout the year.
Undertakes other relevant duties required by the Hospital Senior Director of Operations.
Focus on meeting or exceeding budgetary and agreed performance targets.
Manages own budget with overall budget responsibility for each department.
Role models excellent customer service behavior\xe2\x80\x99s and able to coach others to develop excellent customer care skills which meet and exceed customers\xe2\x80\x99 (patients\xe2\x80\x99 and Consultants\xe2\x80\x99) expectations.
PACS Administrator
EMR and PACS: extensive experience
Policies and protocols
PM scheduling and contract coordination
Equipment service contract coordination
Continuous process improvement
Expert in at least one radiologic modality
Managing coworkers
Interdepartmental Functions:
Active participation in hospital committees and task forces.
Active participation in quality management issues. Submits reports and data as requested by the Quality Management Council.
Demonstrates the ability to use channels of communication to address concerns, problems, and conflicts with other departments.
Education, Experience and Other Requirements:
Licensed by the State of Michigan in one or more modalities.
3+ years of experience
Previous managerial or supervisory experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Ability to interact with physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals on matters that deal with the pharmaceutical needs of patients.
