$3,000 Sign On Bonus for Rad Tech

Requires 1 year commitment to Confluence Health

Perform all routine diagnostic exams, including all surgical procedures, general fluoroscopy, and trauma exams utilizing radiographic, fluoroscopy, portable and c-arm equipment. Provide patients with safe, courteous and efficient care. Assist in other sections of the department as needed.

Position Reports To: Reports to Radiology Manager.
Essential Functions
  • Prepares for and performs all x-ray examinations including but not limited to routine, fluoroscopy, operating room, and portable.
  • Assists radiologist or attending physician with special exams to provide maximum diagnostic information in a professional, efficient manner.
  • Assists clinical instructor and provides direct training and supervision to student technologists.
  • Completes \xe2\x80\x9cInformed Consent\xe2\x80\x9d and \xe2\x80\x9cPrescreening\xe2\x80\x9d forms as needed.
  • Administers contrast media under physician supervision.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of all x-ray equipment and associated minor equipment in accordance with infection control policies and procedures.
  • Required to take standby and be on call as needed. If on call, will be available within 20 minutes of notification of need.
  • Follows good radiation safety, quality assurance and infection control procedures.
  • Understands and follows all universal precautions and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Utilizes PACS, RIS, and current EMR efficiently and completes required paperwork for each examination performed.
  • Reviews and evaluates diagnostic images for technical quality.
  • Completes the education and competencies to perform EKGs as needed.
  • Complies with all continuing education requirements as dictated by regulatory entities.
  • Attend department meetings and participate in all annual required training and in-service training.
  • Lifts patients as needed and when this can be accomplished safely and according to policy. Transfers patients using safe ergonomic technique and utilizes the hydraulic lift or other safe patient handling devices and the patient\'s family members or caregivers when necessary.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement Programs.
  • Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Qualifications

Required:
  • Must be a graduate of a course in Radiologic Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.).
  • Clinical experience in diagnostic radiology and fluoroscopy obtained during completion of an approved course by the A.R.R.T.
  • A.R.R.T. registered or within six months of hire date (actively pursuing registry with an ACTIVE Washington State X-ray Technician license).
  • Washington State Certification as Radiologic Technologist.
Desired:
  • Certification or registry in any other diagnostic imaging field.
  • Possesses basic computer (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing) skills.

Working Conditions:
  • Moderate amount of time requirements outside normal working hours. Requires walking, standing, reaching above, below and at shoulder height. Requires crawling, kneeling, bending, stooping, crouching, twisting, turning and repetitive movements. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds, assists in lifting patients weighing up to 450 pounds and places them in appropriate positions with the use of safe patient handling equipment. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for operation of equipment. Requires eyesight correctable to a level sufficient to operate equipment, review diagnostic images, and complete associated paperwork. Depth perception is required. Required hearing correctable to a level sufficient to use the telephone and hear a patient speaking when your back is turned. The abilities to smell and to feel when touching are required.
