Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Imaging Lead or Manager, the Rad Technologist provides general diagnostic imaging services. Ability to demonstrate radiation protection/safety for patients, staff and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines is of vital importance. Maintaining equipment, exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition is expected. Performs examinations in a proficient, courteous, and professional manner so as to favorably promote the services offered at the facility.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Qualification

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Diploma from a certified school of radiologic technology.
  • Minimum Two (2) years experience as a registered Radiology Technologist required, acute care experience preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association required.
  • Active American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) license required.
Skills
  • COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, regulatory or accreditation requirements Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic to Intermediate Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and percentages.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Intermediate to High Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies, e.g. The Joint Commission and American College of Radiology (ACR) and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
  • Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
