Responsible for planning, supervising and leading recreation activities for children in a structured camp program.
Examples of Duties

Work with Assistant Recreation Leaders to plan, secure supplies, lead recreation activities, and keep appropriate activity records.
Monitor activity areas during assigned hours ensuring that facilities are prepared for assigned activities and cleaned up after use.
Enforce all facility rules and regulations during activity hours.
Work up to 40 hours per week, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
Have regular professional contact with program participants, parents and the general public. Contacts are normally routine and/or of a non-adversarial and non-stressful nature.
ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES:
Provide instruction to other employees of this or a similar job classification in all aspects of procedure and technique relating to the duties required by this job description unless such instruction requires a specialized certification which the employee doing the training does not have.
Perform similar and incidental duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor.
Qualifications
------------------
Experience working with children and skill in the provision of recreation services preferred. Ability to communicate positively with the public, staff and supervisors. Equivalent to high school competence in reading, writing, and verbal communication required.
LICENSES:
Current CPR and first aid certificates or ability to obtain both certificates before employment begins.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Any combination of related education and/or related experience will by considered if the candidate possesses the demonstrated ability.

Must be able to hear. Specific abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and taste or smell. Each of the listed activities also require standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, climbing on stools and ladders, and routinely lifting and carrying items and boxes up to forty (40) pounds.
Administering CPR and first aid as needed. Leading games and supervising children in a variety of physical activities.
