HOURS OF WORK: Hours Vary; Monday thru Sunday; 8 AM to 11 PM
LOCATION: Spenard Recreation Center; 2020 W 48th Ave, Anchorage, AKExample of DutiesThis position is responsible for processing and reconciling all accounts payable, procurement card purchases, fixed assets1 and inventory. This position will serve as the Department\'s Time Administrator that will include helping employees and their supervisors enter time and reviewing inputted data for accuracy and correcting data entry information and for processing payroll corrections and adjustments. This position is responsible for reviewing and correcting all Neo-gov request for job postings and hiring and for processing all personnel forms for personnel changes that are required by Payroll or Employment. This position serves as the Department\'s IT and record management and retention coordinator. This position assists in the gathering and preparation of the Department\'s statistical and financial reports including its operating and capital budget. When needed this position provides administrative support to various boards and commissions that interface with Parks and Recreation Department. Responds to inter agency and public inquiries as requested.Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / PreferencesHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent and five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in the recreation or related field.ORAssociate\'s Degree in Recreation or related discipline and three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in the recreation or related field.ORBachelor\'s Degree in Recreation or a related discipline and one (1) year of increasingly responsible experience in the recreation or related field.Must Possess:Valid State of Alaska Driver\'s License at time of hireAmerican Red Cross First Aid Certification at time of hireAmerican Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification at time of hire.Additional Important InformationThe Municipality of Anchorage participates in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security E-Verify Program. Fingerprint cards must be dated within 30 days from the date requested. The processing fee of $48.25 plus the cost of being fingerprinted (variable), is the responsibility of the selected applicant and must be accomplished before beginning work.If selected for hire, appointment in this position will be conditional based upon the submission of current American Red Cross First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certifications or the equivalent.All required certifications and licenses must remain current for the duration of employment.Military Service Interview Preference:
Veterans or who wish to be considered for interview preference as permitted in Municipal Personnel Rules 3.30.031 D must attach to the application a copy of their DD Form 214, DD Form 256, NGB Form 22, or a letter from the US Department of Veterans Affairs recognizing the person as a veteran. The attached documentation must show an honorable discharge or general (under honorable conditions) discharge. The minimum qualifications of the position must be met for preference consideration.Individuals currently serving as a member in good standing in the National Guard or the organized military reserves who wish to be considered for interview preference as permitted in Municipal Personnel Rules 3.30.031 D must attach proof of current service to the application. Proof of current service can be shown by submission of a statement of service which, at a minimum, shows full name, date of birth, Social Security Number, date service began, branch of service, rank, name of command providing the information, and unit of assignment. The statement of service must be on a form or letterhead of the individual\'s command organization and show the name, signature, title and contact information for the signer providing the statement of service. The minimum qualifications of the position must be met for preference consideration.The Municipality of Anchorage is an employer of National Service.
