Summary

: The Terminal Operations Manager is responsible for developing and executing the business plan and achieving targeted results within an assigned region. This position ensures the safe and efficient management of all port and terminal activities, maintaining strict compliance with regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include overseeing the safe discharge, organization, storage, and movement of cargo, while driving operational excellence and efficiency across all regional activities to achieve business results.

General Responsibilities

:
Develop and oversee the operating budget for the region, ensuring financial goals are clearly defined. Manage regional operations to achieve these budget targets, driving performance to meet or exceed financial results. Ensure all operations comply with local and federal regulations and adhere to environmentally sound practices. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Oversee interactions with vessel operations, other terminals, scheduling, damage prevention, quality, and safety initiatives. Ensure timely completion and management of accounting issues, contracting agreements, and financial reporting. Develop, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams, collaborating with strategic leaders. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, USCG, DOT, and Crowley policies. Partner with Strategic Sourcing to coordinate and negotiate agreements with outside contractors and service providers. Collaborate with People and Culture to manage the employee lifecycle, including hiring, development, coaching, and performance management. Review, verify, and approve major expenses related to terminal and port operations in accordance with company guidelines. Collaborate with other regions and functions to achieve overall business unit goals. Must be familiar with and abide by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Crowley and the United Steelworkers' Union.
Qualifications

Education

:
Bachelor's degree in logistics, business administration, transportation, or a related field; or equivalent post-high school education and experience.

Experience

:
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisory role managing cross-functional teams is required. Experience with budget accountability and formalized safety programs is required. Experience in fuel distribution terminal operations is preferred.

Technical Proficiency

:
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, and Word. Ability to become proficient in various terminal systems, such as Oracle and Work Order (CMS/CMMS).

Knowledge of federal and state marine safety, health, and environmental regulations. Knowledge of training methodology and the ability to develop and provide technical/operational training. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

:
Travel required up to 50% of the time.

Working Conditions

:
Work in both office and outdoor environments, with exposure to high and low temperatures, odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels, and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch, stoop, and climb ladders in areas with restricted headroom. Extended use of a computer keyboard and monitor, with the ability to sit for long periods.
