The Medical Command Center (MCC) is a clinical call center that utilizes a national network of care coordinators and communication centers to link 911 call centers, nurse navigators, physicians, and mobile medical response teams together to provide world class care coordination, patient navigation and unplanned care services. Fully licensed and specially credentialed staff of nurse navigators answer calls that come into the MCCs in Dallas, Texas and Pompano Beach, Florida 24/7, 365 days a year. They use a proprietary evidence based clinical decision software to immediately evaluate a patients current condition and provide a needs matched time appropriate resource allocation (NMTARA) to meet the patients unique healthcare needs. Their five-level proprietary triage system ensures we are delivering the right resource at the right time, in the right setting to achieve the right outcome at the right cost.
Will be in a small call center environment taking inbound calls from linked 911 call center patients or internal employees (EMTs) for any illness or injury that happens at work, and process own employees or patients and navigate their care to appropriate places. Will be taking calls after hours and triage any calls to the appropriate place after hours.
Nurses will have 4-6 monitor screens that they will be looking at for remote patient monitoring. Will have portals and look for alerts in patients and triage them, and then escalate care.
Serves as the Communications Center Supervisor and liaison with healthcare partners, plus communicates with physicians and other healthcare agencies.
Surveillance and monitoring medical clearance forms for new employees.
Participates in quality assurance review of patient Inbound/outbound calls and patient satisfaction surveys.
Triages and assess patients, coordination care needs across health care continuum.
Leads and facilities Integrated Healthcare training courses and participates in staff development, and quality assurance activities.
**First 4-6 weeks is onsite training M-F 8a-5p**
**After training the shift schedule will be 7p-7a (2 days on, 2 days off with rotating weekends)***
Acute care experience
Experience in ER, pre-hospital work, EMT, or paramedic
Active RN license without restriction (must be willing and able to achieve licensure in other states and countries)
Graduation from accredited nursing school
Experience with triaging patients
Experience working with all patient ages, from pediatric to geriatric.
Knowledge of clinical practices, procedures and protocols.
Must be able to multitask and adapt to change as its a very dynamic/fast moving role.
Experience working with dual monitor screens
Type at least 30 words per minute
Great phone presence and professionalism
