Job Introduction:

Maximus is currently hiring for Sr. Regional Nurse Managers to support the New York Independent Assessor Program (NYIA). The NYIA Program serves the State of New York by conducting UAS assessments to determine eligibility for community-based long-term services. The Sr. Regional Nurse Manager will have the opportunity to lead and support a team of Nurse Managers who are on the frontline of ensuring that some of New York State\xe2\x80\x99s most vulnerable populations receive relevant, timely and quality healthcare services.

*This position is remote and will support a regional area in New York State.

About the Position

The Sr. Nurse Manager leads a group of Nurse Managers and their assigned staff. The incumbent provides leadership direction, support, and guidance to the Nurse Managers, who in turn are responsible for their unit\xe2\x80\x99s completion of accurate, timely, and reliable UAS Assessments. The Sr. Nurse Manager collaborates on strategic matters with leadership and colleagues, provides coaching and direction to direct reports, and is integral in fostering a positive environment for the overall Nursing Department. Education and Experience Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a designated number of regional Nurse Assessor units to assure quality, productivity, and timeliness of work completion
  • Work with individual Nurse Managers to ensure assigned units are in compliance with the prime contract, all subsequent amendments, program business rules, as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor each assigned unit adherence to protocols and standards for Initial Assessments, Routine Reassessments, and Non-Routine Reassessments such as Return to Community, Significant Change in Condition, Expedited and Immediate Need Assessments
  • Monitors the activities, schedules, productivity, and assessment results of an assigned group of Nurse Assessor units including daily coordination with the Independent Practitioner Panel to ensure the timely transition of consumers
  • Ensure Nurse Managers review QA findings and follow up with nurses as needed
  • Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports for performance measurement and efficiencies
  • Participate with project and executive management to establish strategic plans, objectives, initiatives, and work plans
  • Collaborates in the creation and implementation of innovative methodologies, process improvements and corrective action plans to continually streamline and improve project operations, outcomes, and quality
  • Conduct timely recruiting activities to maintain appropriate staffing levels
  • Oversees the onboarding and development of Regional Nurse Managers
  • Collaborate with colleagues and executive management to develop, implement, monitor, and revise performance goals and objectives for project staff. Monitor direct reports\xe2\x80\x99 achievement of those goals
  • Practice ongoing performance management (e.g., frequent feedback work performance, completion of formal performance reviews, corrective action, as required, etc.)
  • Lead or participate in meetings or business activities to help support a functional, motivated, and cohesive project team
  • Ensure assigned staff are compliant with project policies and procedures
  • Preferred Skills Knowledge of Community Based Long Term Services and Supports
  • Willingness to travel required; NY State Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License or NY State non-driver ID required; a vehicle may be required, depending on the region
  • Location Remote Orientation and training to be conducted remotely
  • Provide direction to team members and resolves problems in a timely and professional manner
  • Disseminate and ensure implementation of all policies and protocol changes across the unit
  • Promote project image and goals through public speaking engagements and local professional presentations
  • Meet all standards established for this position as outlined in the corresponding annual performance criteria and bonus template for this position
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by Management
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree from accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of home care nursing experience
  • Current RN licensure in New York State
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience working in a health-related setting
  • Previous experience with UAS-NY
  • Experience working with constituent groups; home health care experience
  • Preferred: Working experience with pediatric and behavioral health populations
  • Preferred: Working experience making evaluations and determinations based on the UAS-CANS-NY system criteria for enrollment and development of Plans of Cares
