  • Job Summary
A radiology nurse is involved with the assessment, planning, and care of patients who undergo diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures. The Radiology nurse works closely with the assigned radiologist and technologists to provide direct care to patients of all ages, before, during, and after radiology procedures and imaging. The radiology nurse is skilled with peripheral intravenous catheter insertion and responsible for administering medications, monitoring moderate sedation, and providing post procedure education. Wearing lead protective gear and a radiation dosimeter is required in some procedural areas.Job RequirementsEducationRequired: Graduate of an accredited nursing programPreferred: Bachelor\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s Degree in NursingExperiencePrevious nursing experience preferredSkillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrate effective leadership abilitiesExhibits valuable time management skillsStrong critical thinking/problem solving skills.Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.Licensure/Certification/RegistrationRN license active in the state of MissouriBLS must be obtained within 90 daysMust obtain PALS within one year of hireMust obtain ACLS within one year of hire
