Overview

M Health Fairview is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Birthplace Unit at Lake\'s Hospital in Wyoming, MN. All RNs within the unit are trained to Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum, PACU (c-section care) and nursery. (Cross training to med/surg may be required at leader discretion). All RNs are trained in lactation support, some of the RNs on the unit are Certified Lactation Consultants.

• This is a .75 FTE (60 hours per 2 weeks)
• Night shift (7:00pm - 7:30am)
• 12 hour shifts
• Includes every third weekend and holiday hours

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedure, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.

• Assesses patient needs and identifies encouraged nursing outcomes
• Develops an individualized nursing plan of care
• Implements nursing interventions based on the plan of care
• Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and encouraged outcomes
• Uses communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes
• Demonstrates the ability to advance care by using standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to improve patient outcomes
• Promotes an environment of evidence-based practice (EBP)

Qualifications

Required:

• Minnesota RN Licensure
• BLS certification
• One year of Birthplace experience
• Current NRP certification or willing to obtain within 60 days of start
• AWHONN fetal monitoring required with

1 year L&D experience * or GE fetal monitoring course completion within 6 months of hire for RNs

1 year labor and delivery experience * or successful demonstration of fetal monitoring competency via exam in the 18 months prior to hire

Preferred:

• Preference given for L&D experience
• One year of labor and delivery experience or 2 years postpartum preferred
• Current STABLE certification preferred
