Registered Nurse Post-Op/ Telemetry Unit at MedStar Harbor Hospital

Ortho, Post-Op/OBS Telemetry Unit Highlights:

24 beds
Straight shifts (either day shift or night shift positions) with three 12-hour shifts, every third weekend, and Holiday requirements.
Mostly private rooms with telemetry monitoring for all beds.
Experienced customer service and patient-oriented team.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Training: Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or Multistate Compact state or license eligible. Associate degree in nursing is required. (Associate degree graduates will be required to enroll in an accredited Bachelor\'s of Nursing program within six months of beginning employment and will have three years to complete the program.) Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited nursing program is preferred.

Experience: Experience in Med/Surg or Post-op preferred but not required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to set priorities and work under stress. Basic computer skills required.
License/Cert/Reg: CPR (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required.

Education

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Nursing preferred and
  • Associate\'s degree from an accredited School of Nursing required and
  • enrollment required within 6 months of start date and completion within 3 years. required
Experience
  • 1-2 years of RN experience. required
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the state or jurisdiction of the facility seeking employment or Multistate Compact state or license eligible Upon Hire required or
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation by completion of introductory period. required
  • RNC-OB C- Electronic Fetal Mon Perinatal nurses (labor and delivery, antepartum, antenatal testing) must obtain certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) within 12 months from date of hire. New graduate nurses or new to specialty nurses (labor and delivery, antepartum, antenatal testing) will have 15 months from date of hire to obtain the EFM certification. required
