Registered Nurse - Postpartum

The 52 private bed Postpartum & Pediatric Unit at VHC Health provides exceptional family centered care to postpartum patients, their newborns and families. A 9-bed pediatric service offers families compassionate and personalized nursing care in a nurturing and family-friendly environment. Our goal is to provide our patients with an outstanding experience by delivering the highest quality individualized care.

The registered nurse in the Postpartum & Pediatric unit provides medical and emotional care, thorough education, social support and community resources to meet the needs of our postpartum and pediatric patients. We are looking for an experienced RN who is passionate about providing exceptional care to our families. New teammates should excel at interpersonal communication, be self-motivated and able to manage a fast-paced environment that requires prioritizing multiple tasks.

Qualifications

• RN Licensure with Reciprocity in the state of Virginia
• BLS for the Healthcare Provider CPR
• NRP Certification (Neonatal Resuscitation Certification)
• Postpartum experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in working towards the organizational and departmental goals for providing exceptional patient experiences.
• Collaborates with patient and healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and/or evaluate patient\'s plan of care.
• Assures quality of care by adhering to industry standards and measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and benchmarks.
• Consistently assesses, identifies and addresses patient\'s educational needs and barriers to learning.
• Maintains safe working environment and patient safety by complying with hospital policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Demonstrates knowledge and technical skills to perform all duties required to care for patients.
