Registered Nurse - PCU
Reporting to the Director of PCU and/or designated supervisors and charge nurses, responsibilities include assessments, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation and documentation of adult and geriatric patients. Additional accountabilities include counseling and education for patients and families. Overall responsibility is for the nursing care of patients and for maintaining standards of nursing practice and optimal outcomes, including the supervision of all categories of nursing personnel. RN must calculate and titrate vasoactive drugs used in the ICU in response to changing patient condition. Additionally, the candidate must be able to interpret cardiac arrhythmias and intervene appropriately, including alerting physician to significant changes; is able to perform ACLS interventions competently including external pacing, cardioversion and medication administration.
Qualifications
One (1) year PCU/stepdown experience in an acute care facility preferred
Registered Nurse with current California RN license
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
BSN preferred
