Job description
As a Medical Scribe, you will be responsible for accompanying medical providers into the exam room and accurately documenting the patient-provider encounter. This is an in-person scribe position with one of our Family Practice clinics.
Position is a 13- week temporary position that could possibly extend longer or proceed into a permanent employment position. Position is 38 hours/week, daytime 8-10 hrs. shifts, days are to be determined.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately document patient-provider encounters in an electronic medical record (EMR), including any past medical history, current medical issues, physical exams, treatment plans, disposition instructions, rechecks
- Provide advanced support to providers, including documenting phone calls, alerting the physician with labs/radiology reports are complete
- Provide advanced support to providers, including documentation of phone calls, accurately reporting and alerting the physician of lab results
- Must have a passion for customer service and medicine
- Must be able to commit to a minimum of one year of employment
One to three years experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Current enrollment in a medical-related secondary degree program preferred. For Pre-Med students completion of a medical terminology course preferred. Strong computer and communication skills, able to work remotely.
