Job Details

CUMULUS | Knoxville, TN is home to three of Knoxville\'s favorite radio stations - WIVK 107.7, WOKI NewsTalk 98.7 and Sports Radio WNML AM990/FM99.1. At Cumulus Knoxville we are Home of the Tennessee Volunteers and are located near downtown Knoxville.

Great opportunity at one of the premiere broadcasting companies in the South! Cumulus Media of Knoxville is looking for experienced remote technicians to add to our veteran staff. Candidates should have at least one year\'s experience in radio remote broadcasting environments. Experience in \xe2\x80\x9clive sound\xe2\x80\x9d or in recording/mixing is also preferred.

Scope

Coordinates and performs set-up and tear-down of remote broadcast equipment and promotional items for off-site appearances. Monitors the broadcast or event audio for quality and repairs/corrects problems as needed during the broadcast or event.

General Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain operation and tear-down of broadcast equipment, PA systems, banners, and promotional materials.
• Setup sporting events, press conferences, media events, and other live events for play by play, media pool audio, interviews, and other opportunities.
• Responsible for operation of broadcast audio codecs to include audio over IP, POTS, ISDN, and program loop audio.
• General maintenance of station vehicles including cleaning and minor repair.
• General maintenance of remote broadcast equipment including diagnosis of problems and minor internal repairs.
• Assist with facilities maintenance as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by Chief Engineer

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Computer literacy in applicable programs and equipment
• Ability to professionally interact and coordinate with management, staff at all levels, and clients.
• Ability to multi-task and handle high pressures and deadlines.
• Time management and ability to work independently in remote locations.
• Knowledge of audio mixing and routing as applicable to remote broadcasting, studio broadcasting and sound reinforcement.
• Basic troubleshooting of problems related to electronics, IP networking, phone circuit, audio routing, mixing, and quality.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

• No experience necessary, however Customer Service experience helpful
• Must be 18 years of age or older with a High School Diploma or GED
• Must have a valid driver\'s license and clean driving record
• Reliable; have a flexible schedule and be available to work at least 20 hours per week, including days, nights, weekends and holidays
• May require lifting or moving up to 80 pounds
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Outgoing, energetic, detail-oriented and responsible
• Proficient using computers and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Multi-tasking abilities
• Event experience a plus

May require climbing ladders and working on elevated surfaces (e.g., rooftops)

May require sitting or standing for long periods of time.

May require working outdoors in all weather conditions.
