State of Nebraska Administrative Office of the Courts and Probation is hiring for a permanent full-time Research and Data Specialist position. This is a highly responsible technical assistance position reporting to the Research and Data Director. While this position will primarily work with juvenile data, they will also work on research and evaluation projects for the Judicial Branch which may include data from committees and commissions for the Nebraska Supreme Court, Probation, and the Court Improvement Project (CIP) Through the Eyes of a Child initiative.

Responsibilities include supporting the mission, vision and goals of the AOCP through development of clear and useful reports for internal and external stakeholders. Duties include compiling data, performing analysis, preparing reports with visualizations, and analytical documentation. This position is a valuable team member of the Research and Data division and represents the team and AOCP in various internal and external activities, projects, committees, commissions, working groups, public events, workshops, and training activities. Provide input on policy, protocol, and operational and strategic direction. Additionally, will have the ability to plan and conduct large scale research and data projects. May be responsible for start-to-finish research design, development and process, including but not limited to identifying objectives, sampling, testing/validation, calibration and monitoring performance. Perform data mining, aggregating and querying multiple data sources. Conduct research and analysis of projects as requested, including writing and submission of reports, white papers, and refereed journals and trade publications and presentations at conferences and trainings. Write proposals as necessary to fund or initiate research or special projects. Provide input to data collection policy and practice, monitor uniform data collection compliance and quality across the organization. Validate data to ensure accuracy, quality, and integrity. Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Performs other related work duties as required.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor\'s degree from a four-year college or university in social/behavioral sciences, criminal justice, education, human services administration, public administration or related areas. Plus 2 years of progressively responsible experience in program management.
PREFERRED: Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidate in social/behavioral sciences or related field and at least one year relevant experience OR Master\'s Degree with five years\' experience supervising multiple programs and projects. All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education.
