Job Description


The Research Assistant supports scientific behavioral research, manuscript writing, and proposal development in efforts related to reproductive, maternal, and child health and the structural and social determinants thereof. This position primarily conducts targeted literature searches, synthesizes the findings, and edits research for manuscript development. Position may eventually recruit participants, schedule interviews, and maintain contact with participants.

This is a Part Time position for approximately five hours a week.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Ability to conduct literature reviews and synthesize the findings of multiple research studies
  • Familiarity with reproductive, maternal, and child health literature
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team member
Required Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Social Policy, Public Health, Biology, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or a related field
  • 6 months of experience as a Research Assistant in an academic setting
  • 6 months of experience coding and managing qualitative and quantitative data
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of experience coding quantitative data and qualitative transcripts
  • Familiarity doula and midwifery literature\xe2\x80\xa2 Spanish language proficiency
